Hi! I’m a vocal coach, music director, and composer based in Virginia.
Background
Cate Murray is an award-winning classical soprano, music director, and composer based in Remington, VA. Known for her rich vocal timbre and expressive artistry, she has performed roles in The Consul, Die Zauberflöte, Faust, and Songs for a New World, and premiered new works such as The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls by Joe Jaxson. A graduate of James Madison University and former Young Artist with Opera Roanoke, Cate is also an accomplished music director, having led productions including Prince of Egypt, Jersey Boys, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Tuck Everlasting, and Tick, Tick… Boom. She was excited to recently see her new musical, Tales of the Artisan, brought to the stage! She brings a deep love for collaboration, music theory, and storytelling to every project.
